Thank you for visiting my website. This place is a work in progress, for me to share thoughts, ideas, writing projects, news stories and more.

I am an aspiring writer and contemplative, striving to live out Christ’s mission in my everyday life. I often write about my lived experiences, the people I meet and the places I find inspiration.

I started writing early in college and took on the role of editor-in-chief for The Witness, a student-run magazine at Gonzaga University, in 2007. I grew to love the written word and all that magazine writing entails—visual display, photography, pull quotes, headlines and the printing process.

From that initial experience, my writing career blossomed with contract and full-time work.

My bylines include: The AtlanticAmerican Cowboy, the National Catholic RegisterCatholic News Agency, the Denver PostChalkbeatThe Colorado Sun, Gonzaga University, Regis University, and the University of Colorado.

I’ve served in various communications and marketing roles with K-12, nonprofit organizations and higher education, and my experience spans internal and external communications, social media, media relations, e-communications, crisis communications, community engagement and photography.

I am based in Denver, where I work from my home office or one of many favorite coffee shops in the area. I am the sole owner and proprietor of The Faithful Writer LLC.

Nonfiction, profile and feature writing remain my favorite content areas. I am also fascinated by the evolution of digital platforms for storytelling and compelling visual design.

I’ve traveled extensively through Italy, to World Youth Day in Madrid, and presently serve in Guatemala as often as I can. My travels are of great importance in my writing and can be seen in my personal and professional pieces.

When I am not writing, I love all of the things that make Colorado great, especially outdoor sports and adventures with my husband, Jacob. Of central importance is my commitment to faith and my desire to become ever stronger in my relationship with Christ. I look forward to sharing this journey with you.

Questions and writing requests can be submitted through my LinkedIn profile or via email at k.autumn.jones@gmail.com.

The Faithful Writer logo was designed by Joseph Perez. It incorporates the letter “K” representative of my first name, “Kathleen,” and embraces the national bird of Guatemala, the quetzal. The quetzal is a symbol of freedom. In some Mesoamerican languages, the word “quetzal” can also mean precious or sacred. It’s a fragile bird that has inspired centuries of art in all mediums. Learn more about the quetzal and its importance in my life on my Medium author page.
